William Clinton Clark – California Death Row

KEEPIN’ IT REAL…

Sure, I could sit here and tell you how easy it is to cope with life on death row… how I gracefully navigate the murky waters of this predicament, and how I proudly stand alone with no need for friendship, companionship, or support. But if I told you any of these things, I wouldn’t be keepin’ it real… I’d be lying. I’d not only be lying to you, I’d be lying to myself.

Truth be told, life on death row is horrible – the most horrific experience of my life. To call it a living hell is an understatement. The worst things about it are the intense loneliness, the unbearable boredom, the cramped cell, the disgusting food, the constant threat of violence, the lack of meaningful relationships, and the multitude of obstacles I have to overcome to become a productive member of society.

However, if I can meet just one caring person, just one consistent and reliable friend, male or female, who would keep it real with me, it would make my situation a million times more bearable. You don’t have to give me the world, just a small amount of your time, energy, and effort. If this sounds like something you’re capable of, please write… and let our mutually beneficial journey begin!
